“Doyle was getting ready for early retirement, when his life took a drastic change. Consistent back pain was diagnosed as Stage III pancreatic cancer and a life expectancy of 3-9 months was given. Almost one year later and God has still got him on this journey called life. Doyle chose to use NRMC Cancer Center for his chemo treatments because Dr. Akhtar listened to and respected his desire for quality of life over quantity. Doyle is affectionately known as “the grump” by the cancer center staff, where he is treated with much kindness and humor. Through natural remedies, chemotherapy and the grace of God, Doyle is still alive and living life.”
