Nursing & Allied Health Scholarships

Changing the career trajectory of recipients will assisting NRMC to meet the nursing and allied health needs of our community.

Since its founding in 1987, the Foundation has continued to provide nursing/allied health scholarships in order to address the continued national and local nursing shortage.  Since the year 2000, more than $500,000 in financial aid has been provided to students pursuing degrees in nursing or an allied health field to include Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees.

Community Wellness Programs

Extending our influence in ensuring a collaboration of community organizations address the diverse health needs of everyone in our community

Community grants are awarded annually to those qualifying non-profit organizations, which provide and promote wellness in Natchitoches Parish through healthcare services, education, or healthy environments. Over the past 15 years since the program’s inception, 71 grants totaling nearly $625,000 were awarded to local organizations.  Projects funded include transportation programs, AEDs in local schools, childhood diabetes and obesity curriculum, youth camps, etc. Additionally, the Foundation is funding the fitness trails throughout the Parc Natchitoches.

Volunteer Opportunities

At Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, community members give of their time and talents to help the hospital and its facilities better serve patients, residents and families. 

Volunteers provide many services including assisting administrative departments, working in the NRMC gift shop, transporting patients, and improving customer experience.
